Canine Rehabilitation / Physical Therapy

Southview Animal Hospital provides canine rehabilitation services, also known as physical therapy, to our clients’ dogs.  These services are useful in any dog with back and/or joint problems, including arthritis, hip dysplasia, sports related injury or following orthopedic surgery.  Additionally, the rehabilitation can be applied for animals with neurologic problems that affect muscle strength and mobility, such as dogs with inter-vertebral disc disease.   A third major use of our rehabilitation facility is for general exercise or weight management. We can customize a weight loss or management program that balances nutrition and exercise.  For owners who have difficulty walking their dogs, (especially in winter!), we can do this for you on our indoor treadmill.
Our facility includes:

  • Laser therapy
  • Electrical stimulation
  • Therapeutic ultrasound
  • Land treadmill
  • Stability equipment
  • Cavaletti rails and cones
  • Heat and cold therapy

If you feel that your dog would benefit from any of these therapies, please call us to arrange a consultation.  We look forward to working with you and your pets to keep them as healthy and happy as possible.
