Dr. Barahona was born and raised in Minnesota before moving to Miami to join marine conservation and wildlife rehabilitation efforts. It was during this time that she fell in love with veterinary medicine and ultimately returned to her home state to pursue her degree at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Barahona enjoys building long-lasting relationships with her clients and patients, exploring the human-animal bond, and incorporating fear-free techniques to reduce the stress of each visit. From those first kitten vaccines to discussing end-of-life care for an old friend, she looks forward to being a vital part of your pet’s healthcare team during every life stage. Outside of work, Dr. Barahona enjoys spending quality time with her family and pets (Dexter the 4-legged dog, and Woody the 3-legged cat), adventuring, trying new foods, and soaking up the sunshine!
