Dr. Hays joined Southview Animal Hospital in June 2024 after she earned her DVM from Iowa State University. 

Dr. Hays is passionate about feline internal medicine, exotic animal medicine, and integrative medicine, including acupuncture. Dr. Hays completed the Chi University mixed animal acupuncture certification program during her time in veterinary school. She holds Fear Free certification and is a Cat Friendly Veterinarian certified by the American Association of Feline Practitioners. Her specialized training underscores her dedication to minimizing stress and anxiety for her patients during their visits. 

Dr. Hays values forming strong relationships with pet owners and supporting them through various stages of their pets' lives. Her greatest reward is helping pets live happy and healthy lives with their families. 

Outside of work, Dr. Hays enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Much of her time is spent at the barn with her senior horse, Tiko. At home, she shares her space with three very spoiled cats—Sonny, Cricket, and Goo—and a 3-toed box turtle. An avid foodie, she loves cooking, exploring new restaurants, and visiting farmers' markets whenever possible.
