Remembering Ellie
Ellie was a chihuahua/terrier mix adopted from a small shelter in Iowa in 2017 while we were both in college.
She provided stress relief and companionship for us while we completed college and eventually moved to the Twin Cities in early 2020. Ellie loved having a fenced in yard after moving into a house in 2022. She loved sitting in the sun, rolling in the grass, and chasing squirrels. Ellie battled CHF for 2 years and we thank everyone at Southview Animal Hospital for their work in extending our time with her.
Ellie was truly our soul dog, starting with her picking her mom at the shelter. She always had to have her parents in sight, and needed to be next to her mom on the couch while under a blanket. We will miss her zoomies when we come home, finding hidden bones or random items in blankets and the hamper, snuggling her soft fur, and her silliness.
Ellie redefined what we thought the bond between a pet and owner could be. She had so much personality, gave so much unconditional love, and only asked for an occasional belly rub in return. She truly means the world to us. Life will not be the same, but we are extremely grateful that we got to have 7 great years with the most loving, affectionate little girl.
